The Giesen Silo System offers a new level of achievement in your roasting process! We present you with the functional features, advantages, and usage options of the Giesen Silo System. This system provides convenient storage, movement, and sorting of green coffee. The system is fully automated and equipped with an intelligent conveyor system that directs the beans to the designated silos. Coffee is then easily transferred from the silos directly into the roaster’s loading hopper.
These capabilities make the roasting process even more efficient!
Let’s start with the process of loading green coffee into the hopper. This hopper can accommodate approximately two bags of coffee, each weighing around 70 kg. Beneath the coffee hopper, there’s a conveyor system that moves the green beans to the silos of your choice. Each silo can hold around 925-975 kilograms of beans. Using a modern and user-friendly control panel, you select the silo into which you want to load the coffee. At the top of each silo, there’s a gate that can be opened and closed from the control panel. This system uses compressed air, and the position of the gate can be monitored in real-time on the panel. A safety system prevents multiple gates from being opened simultaneously.
PARAMETERS, SENSORS, GATES
You can control the conveyor speed and adjust the volume of coffee passing through the conveyor by manually controlling the gate. The first part of the conveyor has a viewing tube that allows you to ensure proper coffee dosing. A special device counts the sections of the conveyor system passing by a sensor. This ensures the system is emptied before stopping. The gate only closes when the conveyor stops moving. Upon pressing the closing button, counting begins. When the section count reaches the limit, the conveyor empties, and the gate closes, ensuring no beans remain in the system.
CONTROL SYSTEM
The control system is implemented in the silos through various methods. You can choose the method most convenient for you. You can individually open silos via the control panel at the base or use the control panel near the buffer silo on the first level. Conveyor speed can also be adjusted through the control panel. A dosing gate is located beneath each silo and can be manually controlled. This gate prevents coffee accumulation when moving large volumes.
From the panel on the first level, you can efficiently manage the entire system, saving time and avoiding the need to descend after each roasting. Conveyor pipes run through the floor between the first level and the base.
